About Our Family Research

A Greek imigrant, escaping the poor economic times and territory wars of the small island of tendidos, James E. Malamatinas arrived at Ellis island sometime in the early 1900's. He shortened his family name to Matinas before making his slow journey across this great nation, with brief stop's in Kansas and Pampa, Texas before settling in Inglewood California in the early 1940's. Along his journey he returned to his greek isle just long enough to marry and bring to the new world his wife Freda. While living in Pampa, Texas with his wife they had three children; Pauline, Frank, and Stratton. {more to come}
