I'm trying to find information about my great-grandfather, W. R. (Riley) Matthews, about 1830 -1864, in Chatham and Moore counties, North Carolina. In 1855 he married Lydia Catherine Riddle in Moore county. My Grandfather, Burrel Jones Matthews was born 16 Jan 1860. Riley died as a Conferate soldier in the Civil War. I would like to know who Riley's parents were and his exact dates of birth and death.
