Our Family, in looking for our Religeous Heritage has discovered that in fact we have one. This was somewhat of a suprise but a welcome one for us. We are members of a Pentecostal Open Bible Church and were not aware of the fact that we have a heritage in the Seventh Day Adventist denomination. So far we have traced our lineage back to Benjamin William Maxwell who was born in Illinois and raised his family in a place called Academy, Kansas. This was a Seventh Day Adventist community which is no longer in existence. His Father was James Maxwell and his Mother was Angeline Grover. Since Benjamin was born in Illinois we are assuming that James and Angeline came from Illinois. There was a James Maxwell in the Seventh Day Adventist obituary archives who was born in Scotland in 1836 and died in San Fransico in 1936. It is possible that he is the one but we have been unable to verify this possibility.
We have a family reunion each year with approximately 50 family members in attendance. Next year it will be at the Crooked River Ranch in Redmond, Oregon.
