I am just beginning to research my family backgroud. I have no records or photos that exist that I know of so I'm not sure where to even start. I will begin with the facts as I know them and trust that someone will read this and make a connection. I was born in Memphis, TN at 1st Baptist Hospital on December 3, 1948 to William L.(Lee) Maxey and Flora Elizabeth Maxey - formerly Churchill. I have two brothers; James Lee Maxey and William L. Maxey as well as one sister Josephine Maxey. My father had two children from a previous marriage, born Ruby Fae Maxey and Artilla Maxey both of whom resided in Memphis and were considerable older than my brothers, sister and myself. My father died when I was approximately 12 years old and my mother when I was approxiamtely 14 years old. I can't remeber exactly the years or my age as everything at that time was a blur. My father and mother divorced when I was very young, approximately 2 years old and my mother remarried to Ted (Theodore) Gillespie in Memphis and we relocated to Houston Mississippi after a couple of years in Aberdeen, MS. After my Father died, my stepfather and I were at odds with each other and I moved for a short time to Ashland, MS (Benton Cty)to live with my father's sister Katie Childress formerly Maxey. After a short stay in Ashland, MS, I moved to Holland, Michigan to live with my mother's sister Bea Jarrett and my brothers. I have since completed college and worked for 25 plus years in various industries but for the past 16 years I have worked in healthcare as a Chief Financial Officer.
