Updated April 18, 2007

About Our Family Research

I am researching the CRABB / CRABBE family from Cornwall, Plymouth and Devon England to Newport, RI, Castleton, MI and Toledo OH. I also have family in MA, CT, FL, NJ and NC.

In MI, I have William CRABB, b. 1805 ENG, emigrated to Castleton, MI (now Barryville) abt. 1847, had three children, but only his son George lived to have his own children, Will, Sam, and Nellie. I am also researching families in Monroe Township which are allied to my Ohio CRABBS. Allied names are: JACKMAN, PARKE, and RUCKREIGLE.

In OH, I'm researching Gershom CRABB, who settled in Toledo in 1831 as a child with his Uncle William TAVERNOR. They lived in what was at one time called Crabb Corners in Toledo, and Gershom had nine children, his youngest son, George Edward, had ten. Allied names are JACKMAN, HARRIS, BALDWIN, MONROE, PARKE, RUCKREIGLE, RAUCH, REYNOLDS, ANDERSON, GRODI, AND MYERS.

In RI, William and Gershom's brother, George Major CRABB settled in Newport, RI in 1831, and raised nine children, the youngest of whom, Edward Gershom CRABB, was my grandfather. Allied names are: BACHELLER, BOWLER, KENYON, SCHWARZ, OMAN, GRAHAM, PIERCE, BUTTERFIELD, and MITCHELL.
