About Our Family Research
We would like to know when our ancestors first came to the United States, and where they came from. Our earliest knowledge of our branch of Maxwells is that they came into Ohio in the middle to late 1800's, settling around Waverly,Ohio.Grandfather, John Abernathy Maxwell moved to the Madison County area. Relatives named Henry, and James Maxwell are buried at Schooley Chapel near Waverly. John married Rose Morgan, on April 29, 1899. Rose's father, Leonard Morgan, was the son of Hannah Morgan. Rose was the daughter of Esther Shaeffer. Leonard Morgan had a home on Morgan Road, in Jefferson Township, Madison County.
