I am decended from James and Sarah L.(Averill) Mayo. They migrated to Michigan from NY, sometime in the mid 1800's. So far, I have not been able to find out just where they came from before. They had four or five children. One was my grandfather, Henry A. Mayo, who also came with his parents from NY. They settled in Newaygo Co. Michigan. Alonzo I. Mayo was my Father, born: March of 1888, and died: February 1947.
