ORIGIN and MEANING of MAYMI/MAYMIR/MAIMI/MAIMIR
THE CATALAN THEORIES

Statistically, these names exist in small numbers and in a limited number of countries. It is said in Catalonia that these names are uniquely Catalan. Sources agree that the original spelling was with a middle "i" . These four spellings are considered the same name. According to reliable genealogy and heraldic dictionaries of Catalonia, all families with this name are originally from the province of Gerona, being found only in about ten or twelve towns of this province, and in a few towns of the coastal area of the province of Barcelona.
