Violet Rosemary FOOTE b.24Apr1906 orphan. Have very little info on parents. Mother: Gertrude Alice TICKNER (parlour-maid) married George Frederick FOOTE (market gardener) and died shortly after the birth of her 5th child on 21Dec1908 (age 35)and was interred in Mitcham Churchyard (Merton). Violet's father ran off with the attending nurse after the funeral and the children were seperated and raised in orphanages. Violet married Sydney Charles Boswell in 1927 and they immigrated to Canada that same year. I have a letter from her 'Aunt Annie' of Kennel Lane, Fetcham, Leatherhead, dated 1935 which is in response to a letter she wrote asking who her parents were. I don't know Annie's surname but I assume her husband's name is David and her daughter is Millie. She refers to Dady? & Mollie, Millie & Lionel. She also surmises that Violet's father, George, may have enlisted and been killed in the war. Violet's maternal grandmother's name was Mary TICKNER (interred at Norbiton cemetery grave #4484 or 6684). Violet had in her personal papers the names of John MOODY d.29Jan1924 age 69, and Mary Jane MOODY d. 11Jan1929 age 75 interred at Wimbledon cemetery private graves B1/65 and C.B1.65) - don't know who these people are. Any information would be gratefully received, I have hit dead ends everywhere I search.
