my fathers family is from Union Co. Kentucky. he had 4 living brothers, Leo, James, Paul and Morris Mayes. his father was Walter L. Mayes. his mother was Myrtle Mae West but was born a Thompson and adopted by Mr. West in 1903 when she was 2. her mothers name was Maude Thompson, who went on to marry Mr. Morrow and have other children. whom we are researching. but can find no birth record for myrtle. our family meets every 2 years in Marion, Kentucky for reunions.
