I've always wondered about my ancestry and relatives.
My parents have been married twice, same with all my dads siblings. Both my grandmothers have married twice. Both my blood grandfathers are deceased so I know next to nothing about their lineage. My maternal great grandfather was adopted, it is rumored he is related to the famous Cecil Rhodes. My maternal grandmother was adopted, her real family is the Wolfe family, which includes a 4-star general, and some wealthy (now deceased) people. almost every deceased male member of my maternal side was in the military, many are explorers and inventors. It's also said we descend from the Celt's.
also I am somehow related (by marriage or adoption) to the famous John Raitt and Bonnie Raitt.
My paternal side is often rumored to be related to King Henry (8). My paternal side recycles names and often goes by unrelated nicknames so it is very confusing!
MY family tree looks like a ungle gym, with huge holes lacking of information, that I yearn to fill in.
I want to visit my ancestral lands. I have been to my fathers birthplace, as well as my paternal grandfathers.
