After reading an article on "Alex Haley" and seeing the research of several people that I work with and speaking with my cousin Nell Rambo, I decided that I needed to give some serious thought to our own family tree. I wanted my children, Shonna and Javonna, to know where they came from. All of the family is so spread out, and with us having spent a career in the military, we've never really had any family living near us for any amount of time. People have passed on, as we all shall do in time, and none of our history was written down. We've never even had a family reunion.
Nell went to Utah and did some research at the Church of Latter Day Saints/Archives and I also received some information from my cousin Mary Coggs. They had a family reunion in 1989. That's been 12 years, so I think its time that we give it a try again.
Anyway.....This is my attempt to write down "Where we come from."
