This branch of the May family has ancestors born in Australia since 1882, starting with John Percy Herbert May, my grandfather.
John Percy's father came from Birmingham, England - John Carter May (b. 1850) and wife Helen nee Kincade.
John Carter was one of 4 children (that I have found so far) - the others being Caleb, Thomas and Polly. Their Father was James May (d. Sept 27 1899 in Birmingham); mother ?? nee Carter (b. April 30 1816 in Birmingham).
James was one of 3 children I think - others Robert and Joseph.

The female side is even more interesting - but that's another story. I'm very interested in gathering more May information so if you think that there may some connection with your family send me an email.
