I have been researching the McBee family for 38 years. I descend from Vardry McBee of Spartanburg, South Carolina. I have the history of our family. I am interested in talking to other McBee researchers that are researching any McBee family. I am particularly interested in the South Carolina McBees and the ones who spread out across the country from the S. C. area. My ancestors came from Matthew McBee, his son William, his son Vardry, his son Matthew, his son William, his son Thomas B. McBee, his son James Alfred McBee, born in Georgia, his son William Albert McBee, his son Fred McBee, born in the Grassy Creek area of Spruce Pine, North Carolina. I am Danny A. McBee, born in Gastonia, North Carolina. What my hopes are is that we McBee researchers will release all our information to each other in order to find out our complete ancestry and all information about each descendant. As far as I can see my McBee ancestry, my ancestor William left South Carolina in the early 1800s and moved to Georgia during the land lottery. He lived in the upper portion of Georgia in the Chatham, Catoosa, and Whitfield County areas. He was married to an Anna. They had children named Matthew, Thomas, and possibly William who was married to a Cassandra. I am very excited about getting all of us together. We have the McBee Family Forum and the McBee News which has helped. We must now help each other by opening up and sharing. We each might hold the key that unlocks the other's history.
