The name of the church were my Grandmother was baptized was ( St Michani on Halston St Dublin ) Witnessed by her sister Christina Deegan. The Reverent Joseph Hicky did the service. My grandmother as a child in Dublin lived on Annamore Dr and Co- Rain St. Her father John, worked for the Dublin Corporation. I do not know the geography of Dublin. But I do know by what my Grandmother has told me that they lived close to a church. My Great-Grand parents did not have a lot of money at the time.As a result, my Grandmother at the age of 14 moved to Glasgow to work for a friend of the family, in a small pharmacy.
One of her brother ( maybe Peter ) was captured in a prisoner of war camp during WW2. All I know of her brother's tour of duty, was that he was in India at one point.
My grandmother came home to dublin once and a while to visit her family before marrying my Grandfather, Donald McColl ( Discovitch ) and than moving to Montreal Canada just after the war ended.
The Name Dickovich was that of Mmy Grandfathers. The UK Government changed the name to McColl before he went into the army.
