McClendon Covin: Arkansas Artisans, Expirates and Settlers

Updated January 14, 2008

About Our Family Research

The Root and the Source are paradoxed in Lincoln County AR, TN, GA, Indian Territory and Choctaw-Chickasaw MS Woodlands. Sebastian County, AR is a significant other as is Sapulpa OK and Wichita KS. Surnames include BROWN ADAMS THURMAN WILLIAMS MCCLENDON JACKSON COVIN GORDON. The BROWNS are listed in the 1860 US Census Indian Lands County AR: [west of the state of Arkansas.] Similarly George WILLIAMS migrated from Tennessee, appearing as a paternal family unit in the US 1900 Bartholemew Twp Lincoln Co AR census. Westward bound, Edward MCCLENDON migrated to Okfuskee County OK then relocated to Ft Smith, Upper Township, Sebastian County, AR and settled. The family has branched through OK, CA, IN, KS, TX and a remant remains in AR. There is a pioneer crossroads found in the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nation late 1890's Fivie Civilized Tribes and early OK Territory. Searching through the annals of the arrivists at the British Eastern Woodland Plantations to find the Africa remnant from papers of the 1819 Slave Registration Act and Colonial Office letters about transportation records form Africa origin. Faith! Hope! Love! - So it would seem!
