I have been researching the Clayton family for about 5 years and though I have found a lot of information, I need much much more.
From what I have learned the Claytons lived in Carthage, and Dallas City Illinois. In the early 1850's I have information that John Clayton married Elizabeth Williams. Not sure if they were married in Carthage Illinois. They had 1 son, named George. As far as I am able to learn he was an only child. George married Josephine Hopson and later divorced and married Clara ?. George and Josephine had several children, some of which are Alonzo, Charles, John, Edward, Willis and I think some daughters. Alonzo married Margaret Ellen Douglas and they had several children while in Dallas City Illinois. Believe that Alma, Peggy, Roy and Betty were all born in Dallas City. I think that George, Alvin, Alonzo and the others were born in Iowa. If you have any info that would be of help I would deeply appreciate it.
