Jessie Cuthbert died in 1878 we believe giving birth to her youngest daughter. Her husband passed away in 1883 and the foun children were left with an uncle name unknown. Perhaps it was lack of money or perhaps he just didnt want the children but for what ever reson the children were split up. The oldest James was sent to Austrailia Archibald was sent to Canada as a British Home Child. He arrived in Quebec on the 19 of May 1885 with a group of children from the Quarriers Home. the two girls stayed in Scotland Jessie came to Canada when she was 23 and eventually found her older brither archie. What became of James and Jean? were still looking.
