My parents names were James and Olive (Olla) McDougle. I was born on November 27th 1941, at My sisters home in Brooten, Mn. I am the youngest of 13 children, their being 9 girls and 4 boys. Two of my brothers, and one of my sisters have passed away, as well as both of my parents. One of my sisters live in Arkanasa, Myself in Indiana, and the remainder of my siblings remain in Minnesota.
We have been having a family reunion every other year for the past 8 years. We will be holding another on in July 2000. We hold these reunion at Benton Beach, Rice, Minnesota. We normally have an attendance that ranges from 218 to 389 people, with 90% of the being from my own family. The remainder is cousins from my mother and fathers side.
At the present time I am trying to trace my family tree back as far as I can go. It being such a large family it is very difficult to make much headways. One of the main things my brother and I are trying to trace down is about my great-great grandfather. We have his discharge from the civil war, signed by President Lincoln, from which we are working. Ai his time of service, he was living in Seneca County, Ohio, and was discharged from Camp Cleveland, Ohio.
