I am interested in finding out more about my ancestry. For example, I don't really know anything about my surname, McDonald, other than that it is Scottish (and of course the name of some restaurants and a farm!)
I'd like to know the history of the family McDonald. I'd also like to hear from you if you know anything about my Danish ancestry - the Riskovs, Jucumsens, Holms and Frederiksens.
My Mother, Bente Riskov, was born in Danmark on 24 October 1947,and migrated to Australia with her family in 1959. She met my father in a Sugar Cane Mill in Mackay, and they were married on 28 December 1972. My brother Steven was born on 16 February 1976, and I was born two years later on 22 January 1978. My parents were divorced in 1986, I think!
My maternal grandparents were also born in Danmark. My grandmother, Inge Riskov lives in Mackay, as does my mother. My grandfather, Erik Riskov died in 1994.
Both my paternal grandparents are dead.
