I am researching many aspects of my family. My McDowall line comes from William David McDowall who was born in Scotland but settled in Canada. However, his parentage is questionable, so I am also researching McGowans from County Down, Ireland. This branch also includes McCreath's from Ayreshire, Scot. and Prices' from England. My Truitts, also include Mitchells and Frances' that I am still trying to trace. The Truitts trace back to early American settlers in Illinois. My Mitchells came to America in the mid 1800's and spent time in Chenango, NY.
My Cordell line is from Howell County Missouri and stems from William Cordell/Cordill and Sara Hawkins of NC. My Lewis line is a little trickier as my Grandmother is most likely illegitimate and her father is unknown for sure and the county records burned up years ago. My Kelley line stems from Thomas Harrison Kelley and Francis Casey.
