I've been helping my boyfriend to find his birth family, it's an unbelievable story, he was born on may 19, 1960, was put up for adoption when he was 3, he was put in the orphange along with his 4 year old sister. About a year later their birthmother decided she wanted to try to be a mom again. She came and just got his sister back, and left him at the orpanage. He was adopted by a great family 2 years later.
40 years later, we decided to look for his birth family and the only clue that he had was the name BEST was on papers he had snuck a look at when he was 7. He was'nt even sure that it was a name. Anyway it took us 3 years to find at least a few family members. His b mom has been dead since 1986, and we can't find his birth father. The coolest thing of all was that I was able to track down his sister, Marla Jean Jefferson, they hadn't seen each other in 40 years, and the first thing she said was "Oh Ronnie, I Love you and I have been praying every day that you are ok." Since then we also found his uncle, Joseph A oberle. I called him, and told him about Ron and he was just great! He's the sweetest man in the world. He said that he was always wondering and worrying about Ron. This has all been happening in just a few weeks, and they have been so warm and kind, and welcomed Ron with open arms. He is getting all of ron's moms keepsakes, to give to him, even his moms wedding rings. Ron never believed this would ever happen. He's always been reluctant to really look for them because, for some reason he thought they wouldn't want to meet him. Then last week, we were able to talk to Carol, Ron's aunt, and her husband. They want us all to get together. Carol was able to send Ron pictures of the rest of the family, and they really are glad that he found them.
You wouldn't believe the problems that i had trying to find them all for him. It's a real miracle that things came together like they did. Thank God and thanks to Geneology.com!
All of our love,
Loretta and Ron
