The Prince McFadden Family Home Page

Updated April 29, 2007

About Our Family Research

Prince was born a slave and sold from Alabama to the McFadden Family in Arkansas in or around the year of 1851. Milton his infant son was also sold because the slave owner's wife wanted a child for her son to play with. Milton's mother was left behind to mourn the separation from her husband and child. There is a possiblility that Prince was used as a "stud" slave and it is not known if there were other siblings left in Alabama. Prince and Milton were freed when Milton was around 14 years old in about 1865.
