From a book A History of John Wesley Perry he mentions land grant:
At Edenton, North Carolina, where the courthouse for Chowan Countyis located - land grants to Jeremiah Perry and wife Jane, FrancisPerry and John Perry - to whom the Earl of Granville granted lands inGranville County (later called Franklin County) North Carolina.

Jeremiah Perry built Cascine Plantation. His son Willis inherited the property - later selling it to his Uncle Burwell Perry.

From a book by Catherine Perry Hamilton - "The Perry History" - it is stated Jeremiah Perry was in the American Revolution and served as a Courier under General Light-Horse Harry Lee and was killed by a fall from his horse while carrying messages.

From a book - A History of the John Wesley Perry Family - there is anentry as follows:

From another source on Perry Information it is said that Jeremiah was an excellent horseman and served as a messenger for one of the generals during the Revolutionary War. He was killed while on a mission when horse stumbled and he was thrown.
