This site is dedicated to the memories of our parents, George Warren McIlwaine Jr. and Madeline Ferry. They had three children: Jeffrey George McIlwaine (NJ), Patricia Ann Hafner (NJ) and Lynn Delia (AZ). The history of our family is one of both 17th and 19th century immigration. The McIlwaine's and Gerolstein's came to America from Northern Ireland and Germany respectively in the mid- to late 1800s. The Ferry family came to Springfield, MA is the 1650s. They were apparently Flemish Hugenots who left France, settled in Canterbury, England and then relocated to the British colonies in America. This side of the family has a very long and interesting history. It includes politicians, generals and "mad hatters."
