My name is John McIver. I currently reside in Stratford, PEI. My father is Eugene McIver of Newton, PEI. My Grandfather was Peter D. McIver. I have been a Genealogy fan of the McIver clan for many years, having gathered information from various sources. The vast majority of information comes from work previously done by Sr. Mary Charles McIver, who compiled the first edition of the McIver family history back in 1964. It was followed up and improved upon in the second edition by Ronald McIver in 1985. Their work is invaluable to this great family. I have entered the entire family history as I know it into a computerized Genealogy program called Family Origins, which allows me to upload the entire file to the World Wide Web. As the younger generation grows up, gets married, and has children, I find that it is far too large a task for me to try and keep the information up to dateby myself. A lot of the comments published associated with individuals are my own additions and are therefore my own thoughts. I hope that I have not misrepresented anyone or otherwise made errors of fact or judgement. It is my hope that this web site will be visited by many family members and that you will e-mail me with updates to your particular part of the family.   This family tree contains the ancestors of Hugh McKeever (1801-1857) and Mary Quinn (1805-18760.They emigrated to America about 1826, settling in Philadelphia. Five of their eleven children were born there. The family returned to Ireland in 1838. The following year they emigrated to Prince Edwrad Island settling in Kinkora where the other six children were born. It is not known exactly when the name changed from McKeever to McIver, but likely the result of a court transaction. The last will and testament of Hugh McKeever is signed Hugh McIver, dated Feb. 21, 1857. I would hope that interested family members would contact me with updated information regarding your branch of the family for inclusion here.
