Welcome! My mother was Vera Beatrice (Kirkpatrick) McKinney. She was born April 15, 1915 in Ozark, Franklin county, Arkansas. She was the oldest daughter of Omer Luther Kirkpatrick and Willie Canzatty Wade. My mother grew up in Shamrock, Creek county, Oklahoma. My mother moved with her family to Oklahoma in about November 1915 when she was about seven months old. Her father wanted to work in the Oklahoma oil fields. They moved first to Stroud, Lincoln county, Oklahoma. They lived there until about 1918 when they moved to Shamrock. My mother married my dad James Albert McKinney on December 31, 1934 in Shamrock. They were married 53 years until my mother's death on May 09, 1988 in Bristow, Creek county, OK. My dad died just 22 months later on March 28, 1990 in Bristow. They are buried in the Shamrock cemetery near Shamrock, OK. They are gone but not forgotten! This website is dedicated to my mother and her family.
