The last of our line of McKenney is the family of Rex Clarence McKenney, son of Clarence McKenney, son of Guy McKenney. Guy's family immigrated to Maine in the mid-1800's. The brothes and sisters, sons and daughters, of Guy McKenney (those who ultimately settled in the township of Spencer Brook, Minnesota) have passed on. Of the children of Guy McKenney we know only that one son, Clarence, married and had children. All of Clarence's children (including my father) have passed on. With them is all the history of our family.
Remaining are 2 brothers and 5 sisters from Rex Clarence McKenney. We are musicians, writers and builders. Deb is the oldest, living in California (married with 3 kids). In Minnesota: Cindy (single); Rex (engaged); Patty (married with 2 sons); Clark (married with 2 children); Amy (married with 2 children) and Jackie (single). We can tell stories of our childhood (it was a wild-land freedom of an isolated pocket in east-central, Minnesota) - a few of our father's stories and fewer still of our grandfather. For reasons we never fully understood little was told of our ancestry.
We seek a past. If anyone has any information about Guy McKenney; Old Town, Maine; or anything relevant that can we can begin to piece together our ancestry it would be greatly appreciated.
