Descendants of Donald McKinnon and Mary McDonald Updated December 19, 2005
About Our Family Research
Donald and Mary McKinnon (nee McDonald) lived in Caledonia township, Prescott County in 1838, at the time it was called Ottawa District. So far I found two sons, Roderick who married Marguerite McPhee in 1844 and John who married Angélique Lalonde in 1841. The second is my ancestor. I'm looking for John's place of birth. It was in Canada, maybe even in Caledonia, but I found no record of it so far. When Donald died in c. 1839, part of the family moved to Kenyon Township in Glengarry County. The family was Roman Catholic. John's wife, Angélique was baptised in Saint Joseph de Soulanges on November 1, 1818, her parents were Louis Lalonde and Angélique Bray.
