About Our Family Research

-----My starting point shall be Mcknight, for that is the name along with McKissick that I was immediately born with. My Father is Webster Hunter Mcknight Jr. and my mother is Josephine McKissick-
Mcknight. The Smiths of The Roanoke, Alabama, is the maturnal link of my Father and his mother. The mcknights and Reeds of the Roanaoke, Alabama area, are the paternal links of My Father. The
McKissicks and Fosters of the Spartanburg, South Carolina area are the links and lines of Mother's family. It is my deep desire to gather have and be able to pass on the links and lines of our famil and they have grown and expanded. It is something that I know that I cannot do alone, it is with the help of family and friends that I hope to do this.
-----In dealing with the very concept of Family it can be a never ending process. There should be no part of ones family that is more or less important the another. To do such a thing is to down-grade your own self.
-----I shall attempt to bring in and honor every member branch of my family. It shall not be easy, by that should be a large part of the joy and pleasure of searching out the family and it's members. This is the reason that the family tree has been applied to the family.
-----I have two brothers, and one sister, Webster 3rd, Cynthia, and Baron. We were all born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, And we grew up in Roanoke Alabama. All my brothers and sister was born between 1943 and 1948. There are other half brothers and sisters that I will list as I go along.

Joseph L. McKnight Of Spartanburg, SC
Sat. 6/02/02)
-----I am Joseph L. McKnight. I was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where my mother's family is from; and grew up in Roanoke, Alabama, where my father's family is from. Most of my childhood years was spent in Roanoke, Alabama; and my teen years was spent in Cleveland,Ohio, Meadville, Pa, and Queens New York.
-----I have moved around a lot in my life, and I have and am proud to call Queens, New York, Meadville, Pennsylvania, Detroit, Mi, and Lynchburg, Va, where I presently call home. I spent four years in the US Air Force, in Texas, Japan, Hawaii, and Washington, DC,or rather Silver Springs, Md.
-----I have seen many things happen to families, in families and between families, some bad, most it good; yet inspite of the bad and because of the good there is no union and relationship that is more important than that of the family. One of the sadest things that I have ever witnessed is when families foolishly and knowingly hurt another family member. I understand that there are many factors that affect ones life; depending on your prospective, things from other people, to money, to religion, to politics, to time and space, to the heavens and the earth; and most of all we are affected by the plan and purpose of God.
-----The defined limits of what constitutes family may vary; I personally think that the defined limits that the bible uses are very good. The limits that I speak of is in relationship to marriage and the sexual relationships of a male and female.
-----It is never ok for father and daughter, mother and son, an uncle or aunt with a nephew, or neice: the blood child of an aunt or and uncle, these are some limits that I personally think should not be crossed. All things that exist has a purpose and it is to the one who designed, planned and purposed a thing that we must go to find out the limits and capibilities of that thing, be it plant, animal, or human, animate or inanimate. I accept that the designer of all that is God....
-----In reality, if we subscribe to the bibically based version of creation, then the children of Adam and Eve, would have had to start the process.
