The research initially was started for the William MacDonald and Mabel Ott MacDonald families. My father was born in Lisbon, New York to Clara Faubert(Fobare) and Michael MacDonald. Her parents family have been traced back to 1773 in Deux, Montagne. The MacDonalds can only be traced back to a marriage between Louisa Villeneuve St.Denis to Archibald McDonnell(MacDonald) in 1852 in Hogansburg, New York. He was said to have been born in Glengarry Scotland about 1817. This Archibald did fight in the Civil War in Company G 142nd Regiment, NY Volunteer Infantry. We have some stories about where he lived prior to moving to the States and a war that he fought in, the Battle of the Wind Mill in 1838. It is his family history that I am especially interested in finding out information. Mabel Ott's mothers, family were German and had migrated to Ohio. I do have a lot of information on the Durr family. The Ott family was from Basel Switzerland and settled in Tonawanda, New York as did some of the MacDonald family.
