We have been researching family history for over four years now.
Both by Internet and through going physically to sites to do research: libraries, history centers, family members who live far away and graveyards.
Our family is an interesting study. There are several things that seem to flow through all those we have studied. They were patriotic, having in every generation those who served their country in the armed services. They were hard workers, as shown in their wills and in other information. The women were to be admired for their stick-to-it attitudes as several had to raise children in very harsh conditons as widows. They were God-fearing people, most of whom were members of their church of the town they belonged to. Many were farmers or at least people who tended the land, not shop keepers and so forth.
It has been an interesting journey, as well as one which opened new avenues to meet cousins we did not know before!
