Genealogy Research for McKelvey's in Northern Ireland, Pennsylvania, and Ohio!
Hi, I am Robert D. McKelvey, Jr., the gg grandson of John McKelvey, and Jane Logan McKelvey. My research started after 1971, when my grandfather, Newton G. McKelvey, passed away and I realized I had not known his brother or sisters, or family history. My father, had not talked about it much either. My grandmother's side of the family evidently, were more talked about than the Mckelvey side, why? My research of the history of the family will explain why!
John McKelvey b. January 20, 1826 in Bellyemans, Northern Ireland
d. June 9, 1911 in Killbuck, Holmes County, Ohio
Jane Logan b. February 2, 1832 in Belfast, Northern Ireland
d. February 25, 1898 in Killbuck, Holmes County, Ohio
Brief History: They immigrated separately to the U.S., to Philadelphia, Pennslyvania. John was naturalized in 1856. They were married in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. They then settled in Killbuck, Holmes County, Ohio, where they raised their children.
