John Mckie & three of his brothers arrived from Scotland on a ship that their father captained in the late 1800's. One of these four brothers moved on to Grenada, & settled there.The other brothers settled in Kingstown, St.Vincent. The place where they settled, is called Mckie's Hill after these brothers. Later on, these brothers bought lands in the Mesopotamia Valley area, & resettled there. One brother moved to the Windward side of the island, while two brothers remained in the Mesopotamia Valley (P'Tani). John married Sarah Charles, & together they had thirteen children.Eleven of the thirteen children are all that I can name:Ellen, Edith, Lilly, Beatrice, Mary, George,Cyril, Thomas, Albert Bertram,Walter, John JR.
Ellen died at a very age, George moved to Panama, & was never heaard from, Beatrice moved to Michigan, married to a Mcguire, had 5 children, among them 2 boys, Cyril & Samuel.
Mary, Cyril & Thomas moved to Grenada to catch up with their Uncle. The remaining children of John & Sarah stayed in St. Vincent, & had families of their own . What follows gives us a look into the lives of these families.
