The Robinson & Moody Families of South Alabama Updated August 1, 2006
About Our Family Research
The interest in researhing my family history began in 1967 when I started asking older family members for information. The project was set aside and only worked on occasionally for thirty years. Much to my regret many of the relatives that could provide information have died. It is hard to locate written records of ancestors.
The information is there somewhere and others have bits and pieces of it. The need to find others who are reseaching in important.
The Moody family occasionaly have reunions and the Robinson reunions are usually restricted to individual families.
Wyatt Robinson came to Alabama from South Carolina as a child and married Matilda Riley who was born in Alabama. They lived in the Conecuh, Monroe and Butler County areas. The Robinson family may have moved to the area from Lowndes County in 1819.
Solomon Moody lived in Covington County, his son Joseph Tally Moody born in Covington County left and married Mary Jane Verlula Rodgers. They lived in the Monroe, Butler and Conecuh County areas.
The other family names are Kendrick, Anderson, Russell, Skipper, Dean, Boykin, Middleton, Jones, Ward.
