My father's name was Henry Marshall Mc Laren who was born in 1903, Farmington, IL. Mac, as he was called, moved to Denver and married my mother, Winifred Kimmett Lewis in 1944. He died in 1953 of leukemia at the age of 49.
I am new to family research but have been able to confirm through census records that his father's name was Albert Aeschel Mc Laren, his grandfather's name was W. H. McLaren and his great grandfather's name was Robert Mc Laren. Robert originally came from Scotland and settled in Fulton County, IL, working the land as a farmer. He married Martha, who was from Kentucky. I don't know her last name.
I'm fairly sure that Robert first came to Canada before entering the United States, but I'm at a stall how to continue the search for that immigration information or his place of birth and therefore his ancestors in Scotland.
