Welcome This is my first attempt at having a go at tracing my family roots. I live in a small village in Ireland Called Sallins which is situated 20 miles outside of Irelands Capital City Dublin, and lies about 6 miles west of the Wicklow mountains. (also known as the "Garden of Ireland")My family are originally from a small town called Ballymore Eustace which lies under the wicklow Mountains.I know my grandfather was born in Ballymore in March 1887 and married Katie Marshell, They had 5 children 3 boys and 2 girls. His son Joseph is my father. Since my grandfathers death I have realised the importance of family ties, as far as I know no-one in the family has kept any kind of records belonging to the family. It is my ambition to remedy this, so I would greatly appreciate any solid advice on where to start and how to go on. Is there anybody in the same position as myself. It is a daunting task especially when you have essentially nothing to start with, but I am not going to let that stop me. I've got the bug so here I go into the past to find the future.
