The McLachlan's hail from the Lowlands of Scotland. George McLachlan came over to the U.S. before WWII, and settled in Danbury, CT. "The Mad Hatter" he was called, as he built a successful Hatting business which his son, Charles, ultimately sold to Stetson in the early 1970's.
