The Donald F. McLeans of Western New York

Updated May 17, 2001

About Our Family Research

I haven't done much research myself on my family's genealogy, but the wife of my father's cousin in Buffalo, NY has. I do now that the first McLean to come to this continent in the 1700's was born in Dervaig, on the Island of Mull in Scotland. He settled in Guelph,Canada and was a land surveyor and discovered the highest known falls (around that time) which was originally known as McLean's Falls. My late Grandfather, John McLean, lived in Buffalo, NY as a news broadcaster for Radio, and his son, (my father) Donald, lives in Olean, as a retired radio broadcaster. I am also in radio now in Rochester, NY.
