Allen,Anthony,Clark,Floyd,Kershaw,McIver,Parrish,Perez, and Sparkman, are some of the surnames of our ancestors. Our families roots originated in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Cuba. Research and documentation has been gathered for everyone listed above except for the Perez ancestry. Eloy Perez was my great-grandfather. Eloy was from Cardenas, Cuba who came to the United States when he was about seventeen years of age. Eloy was orphaned quite young. When his parents died he and his brother were taken in and raised by an uncle, T. Jose de las Ramos. It is believed that he and his brother were taken from Spain to Cuba, then to the United States. They lived for a time in Tampa, Florida, before returning to Cuba. Eloy stayed in Cuba until he was seventeen years old whe he alone decided to return to the United States. Eloy moved to Jacksonville, Florida and there he was employed as forman of the Gonzales and Sanchez cigar factory until his retirement. Eloy bcame a citizen of the United States on Sept. 2, 1896. Eloy married Anna Clark Anthony, daughter of Anna Deas Clark and Dr. John Micagaw Anthony. They had six children: Daisy Felicia, Eloy Henry, Ira Leroy, Elmer, Mignon Ann and Clark Dwight (my grandfather).
