Carolina at the turn of the century. thier son William McLeod is my GreatGreatGreat Grandfather. He married Sarah Catherine Bethune, of Kershaw So. It was here in Alaquah, My greatGreat Grandfather, Norman Bethune McLeod was born on Sept. 8, 1843.
Norman B. McLeod Served in the War between the States in the 1st regiment, Florida, Infantry, Co. "E". He served under and along side his two brothers. they all survived the war and fought at battles in Chickmaugua and Murfeesboro, Tenn, and ended the war at a final battle against General Shermans forces at the battle of Bentonville, No. Car.
After the war, Norman moved down the gulf Coast of Florida and married Georgianna Locklier. They had 8 children including My Great Grand Father, Wilkinson Charles McLeod, born in 1892.
