About Our Family Research

We have been studying the family tree for the last four years and have found it not only interesting but exciting as well. It is wonderful to trace all those ancestors who descended from Scotland and travelled down through England to not only settle in Cornwall, but to travel on to America and Australia. By chance, a relative was found to be living only a mile around the corner from where (at the time) we were living in Camborne. Much information was gathered by this cousin and passed on to us in the hope that it would fill a few of the gaps that had been found.

Maurice has since then carried on researching in places such as the local Family History Society and we have used the internet over the last 6 months to help forward our information to others who may have clues as to missing links.

We have sent away for and received many interesting birth, death and marriage certificates and have had access to census records that have indeed been found on the internet history and genealogy sites.

In 1998 we were lucky enough to meet four cousins from Pigeon in Michigan when they came over to visit for a site seeing tour.

  • McLean Family Tree (53 KB)
This family tree contains information on members dating back as far as 1835 (as far as we have gone to date). We have many photos and certificates to scan in and as yet the tree is by no mean complete.
