Edit Your Page Ever since I can remember, I have been interested in my grandparents life in Norway and have had a fascination with my family history.
My journey into the world of genealogy began in earnest in 1999. One day at work a co-worker was talking about her husband's interest in genealogy. Out of curiosity, I aksed her some questions and by the end of the day I had several websites to check out. Little did I know what this would lead to.
The only information I had to go on were stories I had heard over my lifetime and a couple of documents that belonged to my grandfather such as his birth certificate. Some stories were confirmed while others have been clarified.
My interest continued for about 3 years with many hours spent at the computer. However, I took a break for about a year and then picked things up again early this year. I never really forgot about it, I just set it aside.
This summer at a family wedding, we decided to have a family reunion in July 2006. I knew I had my work cut out for me if I wanted to put something together to share with others.
I am planning a trip to Norway for two weeks which will be the last week of June, first week of July 2007. I have made contact with some relatives in Norway and hope to meet them in person when I go. Anyone interested in going can email me, and I will keep them apprised of the details.
What you will find on this site is my research to date on both my grandfather Edward Swanson and my grandmother Martha Christianson.
My information comes from family ,Norwegian, United States and Canadian records. If you discover any errors or omissions or have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
