David McMunn is surely the illegitimate child of Emigrant Daniel McMunn & Agnes Montgomery , David was born in Pitt Twp.Allegheny Co. in 1791. He served in the Pennsylvania Militia under Capt. Barrickman in 1812 where it gave his birth and his residence as Plum Twp. Allegheny Co. Pa. David also shows up on jury duty in 1818. The 1800 census for Allegheny Co. Pitt Twp. Pa. for Daniel McMunn (Emigrant) indicates 2 boys up to 10 is shown, one 1791 (David) and the second Abt 1793 (John). The 1810 census Allegheny Co. Plum Twp shows up to 10 (James and Daniel) , one boy 10-16 (John) and 1 boy 16-26 which should be David. The only other mention of David in in the ejection court action against Samuel McMunn in 1851 and this shows him as AL (Deceased). A Mary McMunn also is listed here (David's Wife or the sister not identified in the 1800 census?). After 1820 David drops from the picture and can be assumed he is deceased. Evidence on the 1830 census shows his brother John ends up with 4 unexplained children whose names are probably Robert (1821), Daniel (1823), John (1825) and George (Abt 1828). (Note: Pittsburgh and it's people mentioned John being raised by his Uncle). Therefore David must have died Abt 1828-1829 leaving his 4 children for his brother John to raise. See John McMunn's census of 1830 & 1840. John moved to Westmoreland Co in 1839 and beginning in 1830 John had 8 other children with the first (Jackson ) being born Abt 1830 and listed in the 1840 census.
The above information is not fully documented but fits the scenario on events that have taken place. The record of Daniel Laird McMunn (1823) follows those events.

Roberts discharge Certificate indicates he was 40 years old on Nov. 11 1862 .
George was found in the 1850 census working for Mary Maginkin and his future wife Caroline Sands living close to where he worked. Robert could not be found in the 1850 census but in the 1860 census he is working for James Armstrong the son of William Armstrong whom Daniel worked for in 1850. James Armstrong was also executor of Roberts's will.
