The Herbst/Bressler Family has roots in York Co. Pennsylvania and Baltimore, Maryland. I have traced my father's family back to my Great-great-great-great Grandfather, John Bressler b. 1767, and his wife Elizabeth Minnich, b.1780. They had a son, John Bressler b.26 Sep 1798 Codorus Twp.,York Co.,PA d:09 Sep 1874 PA He marrried Catherine Lawson on Jan 27 1825 in PA and she died Sep 1 1881. They had 13 children:
Mary Ann Bressler,Justina Bressler,Mandella Bressler,Katherine Bressler, Frank Bressler, Sybilla Bressler, John Jr., Oliver Bressler,Miranda Bressler, Henry Bressler, Elizabeth Bressler, Rosa Ellen Bressler and Cornelius Bressler who married my Great-great Grandmother Ellen Mary Fried (Freed) b.15 Oct 1835 in Codorus Twp, York Co. Pa d:26 Feb 1926. They had 7 children:
Boy Bressler, Elizabeth Bressler, Alberdina Bressler, Alice (Allie?) Bressler,Henry Bressler, Eliza Cathryn Bressler, and my great grandfather Edward Roland Bressler b:08 Oct 1866 in York Co. Pa d: 14 Nov 1931 he married Alice Janette Kinard on 13 Nov 1887. Their daughter Charlotte May (my grandmother) married William Alexander Herbst b;03 Mar 1889 d: 23 Aug 1942 he was the son of Edward Everett Herbst b:30 Oct 1860 and Emma Ann Wilke.
