McPhatter's of south central North Carolina

The current information on the McPhatter's span from the 1790's to present. Mainly the McPhatter's lived in the now Hoke county North Carolina area. John McPhatter arrived in the area about 1790. In the mid 1850's the McPhatter's was part involved in the formation of Wagram, NC and the new Presbyterian Church which they were charter memebers. In the 1840's TB took most of the McPhatter's to an early grave. There are a number of wills where young adults of the McPhatter's made plans in case they meet an untimely death due to TB. There are just a few of the McPhatter's of this line still in the area. The surnames of others that married into the McPhatter are at present the following. McNeill Kelly McPhaul Currie McKay Wilkes Dawkins Smith McNair Ray Wallace Munroe Nichols English Troublefield Tillett etc.
