I'm curious to learn more about my grandparents on my father's side of the family. Of the McQuay's I have heard that three brothers came over from possibly (Protestant)Northern Ireland to Canada where two settled in Ontario and one went to the the U.S. somewhere between the 1850's to 1870's. I know that the names James, Andrew, Barry, etc. were common McQuay names. I also know that I have some distant relatives living in the Chicago area. My grandfather Andrew James McQuay married my grandmother Catherine Abel(her mother's maiden name) Pyper. The Pyper's came over to Toronto around 1921 from Aberdeen Scotland and possilby a brother went to the U.S. and another went to Australia and the rest of them settled in Toronto. Anyone having any information about this please contact me as the older generations are dying off with all the family knowledge. Thanks!
