my family come from jackson county kentucky or at least that where i was told, MY fathers dad was samuel mcqueen and samuel was the son of John mcqueen from jackson country kentucky, John was born is 1829 and died in 1903. I am planning to find some information on his life and i know little about John my great grandfather...John Mcqueen...my mothers was a Gill from laurel county and my parents married in 1942, in laurel county kentucky.. My father George mcqueen was born in 1924 and he told me that he had heared that the mcqueen desendant of our kin line settled in jackson kentucky and spread to laurel county ,, there was and old man name black Tom Mcqueen which lived to be 88 years old was the oldest memember of that old mcqueen clan...it was told me that the first mcqueen settler traded a hog rifie for a large track of land they run up moores creek kentucky. i have no real knowledge that all this is actual facts, it was just handed down to my father and me...if anyone has any information on john mcqueen that is buried in jackson county kentucky he was born 1829 and died in 1903 , before the air plain was invented im thinking...
