Merle Mulvany's Tennessee ancestors arrived in Northern California via wagon train traveling the Oregon Trail 1849. Merle's Haley ancestors departed New England (Connecticut and Maine) for California during the mid-1800s.

We're also looking for information on the Silas Davis family. The Davis family traveled the Oregon Trail with the Mulvanys from Iowa in 1849. Silas Davis's daughter, Elizabeth Davis, married Newton Mulvany in Oregon in 1854.
Silas Davis's wife was Jane (Jones), his brother was Harmon Davis, and sisters were Judith and Winnie. Silas Davis died on the Oregon Trail, and his wife, Jane, remarried.
