The McVays of Monroe County, Ohio

Updated March 15, 2005

About Our Family Research

My McVay line decends thru Benjamin McVay, formerly of Pa. I have been researching the information for over 10 years. I have found the websites as well as census, and the monroe county books that are available. I have heard that the mcvey archives found in the newbury library chicago are bogus, so I have applied that information loosely.
The thrust of my genealogy now is to decifer the Benjamins of the phila area around the revolution. I would like to find information, with sources, regarding the col benj of the phila militia.
There is also a Benjamin, son of Benjamin b. 1732 scotland, who is attributed to being col benj, which I believe is unlikely.
